| AWWW man. New York was pretty awesome. If you don't know I went with me school orchestra and chorus to play in carnegie hall. On the way there, maybe 2 hrs after leaving, we suddenly stopped at a KFC. I was awoken from my deep slumper (lol) and rushed off the bus. I thought it was a potty break, but the chaperons were freaking out. Turns out, the back of bus number 4 (my bus) caught on fire. Kids from the other buses said there were flames and billowing smoke. They quickly grabbed all the suit cases and bags from the bus and a fire truck came to put the fire out. The bus didn't explode, but it woulda been kinda cool if it did (of course without anyone getting hurt). Nyways, they stuffed us on the other 3 buses and sitting in the isle was kinda a pain though we tolerated. We went to anne arbor, michigan to do a clinic, then stayed the night in ohio. In the mornin', we started off straight for New York (we got a new bus). But when we stopped somewhere for lunch, we found out that one of the other buses was leakin' transmission fluid, which is bad. Soooo, they had to stuff kids on buses for the rest of the ride to New York. When we got there, we got some time to eat dinner, then walked to a concert hall where we saw the NY Philharmonic. After, we went back to our hotel and slept for a few hours (like 6). Bright and early, we had rehersals and went on our tours. Some went to the gugenheim (sorry, butchered the spelling) and the rest went on a movie tour (which really stunk bad). After, we met up at Ellen's stardust dinner, where we were entertained by singing waiters/waitresses. The food stunk. Then, we got some free time around time square and went to see Chicago, the musical (I know, came from chicago to new york to see chicago lol) and it was good. John O'Hurley was in it. We walked back to the hotel. In the mornin', we had rehersalssssss (booo). We got some time for lunch and then had more rehersalsssss. We went to dallas bbq for dinner (it was pretty good) and went to the Empire State Building (it was really stormy, so people were been blown around at the top outside. lol). Then we got some time to got around time square again. The next day, it was all about rehersals. We got to sleep in and then had to go to dress rehersal in carnegie. THE ACOUSTICS BLEW US AWAY. We could not stay together because of the reverb. We had dinner and went back for our performance. It was pretty amazing. We messed up a lot, but I think the acoustics covered it up. We still got a standing ovation. Once it was all over, we got to go on a 3 deck cruise ship around the harbor. In the mornin' we started for our 15 hr drive home. We stopped for lunch at this truck place, where there was a food court that had a panera. like 100 of the 200 of us had Panera. I have applaud the 6 employees that handled all of them in record time. The rest of the trip was movies and cards on the bus (and a little sleep). We got back around 1:00 Am today and I'm tired as heck. THEY THREATENED US, SO WE HAD TO GO TO SCHOOL TODAY. Over all, not enough sleep, not enough free time, too much fast food, BUT AWESOME TRIP. I did not want to leave New York to come back to school. Oh well. | | |
| I heard that She's the Man would be good, but I was a little disappointing.Yes, some jokes we're funny. But it wasn't really that great of a movie. It seemed like a pretty-person movie. Oh and the soccer skills were terrrribbbblllleeee (xcept for the black guy, but he's a pro soccer player so...). Channing Tatum was pretty. Laura Ramsey was pretty. My rating: 2.5 outa 5. | | |
